Out of the modest home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Quinichette, Union Baptist Church had its early beginnings. The Quinichetts began the legacy when they first opened their home for prayer services to members of a small farming community. Starting with a small prayer band that met at the Quinichettes' home and eventually at the schoolhouse, members of the community came together to worship. Soon, led by Rev. Graham Jordan, the band decided to construct a church. The newly formed church was named Union Baptist, stemming from the desire of its members to join in unity to provide a place of worship.

As the congregation increased so did the strength of Union and its place in the community. The legacy continued to grow under the direction of such leaders as Reverend Swain, T.C. Patterson, M.B. Myers, J.P. Wilson, Charles Walton, Vurn O. Mullins, and Lindbergh Perryman. Better accommodations were added, building additions were constructed, musical instruments were purchased, utilities were upgraded, and new programs were developed.

As we look back over the recent years, we have made additional strides in continuing this legacy. From launching full force into the digital universe with our website, Twitter feed, and Facebook pages to Union opening our doors to host a substance abuse program to the purchase of land for future expansion, our enriching ministries are leading souls to Christ.

However, we are not finished yet! On January 4, 2009 Pastor McDaniel revealed the vision for Union that God placed in his heart. What was revealed that Sunday was the mission and direction for a continual growing congregation (vineyard) that will lead lost souls to Jesus, to empower families (village) to walk in the ways of the Lord, and to equip disciples (vessels) to fulfill Jesus’ Great Co-Mission through powerful preaching and teaching of His Word.

With every mission there must be milestones and this is what has been accomplished between 2010 - 2016:
+ Pastor McDaniel left his secular job
+ A second worship service was added
+ Tithes and offering have increased
+ A new church van was purchased
+ Two new associate ministers have joined the flock
+ Youth Church services are held the first and third Sundays
+ Power Up to Man Up first Tuesday prayer service initiated
+ FUSE (Friends United Seeking Eternity) quarterly sessions for youth

Out of a prayer band that was formed so many years ago at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Quinichette, Union Missionary Baptist Church has emerged and continues under the leadership of E. Richard McDaniel to prayerfully stand strong as a place of worship, a pillar of the community, a symbol of faith, and more importantly a firm foundation on which future generations can build.

“…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even until the end of the world. AMEN.”
